All you have to do is slide your finger underneath your thigh at the front end of the chair. If you find that there is less than a finger’s width of space between your thigh and chair, your chair is too high and needs to be adjusted.
- It’s not just chairs that can be adjusted. Did you know that some work surfaces can also be adjusted to allow you to attain the perfect working position? Use a combination of seat and work-surface adjustments to attain what’s right for you.
- Don’t forget the depth. The depth of your seat is linked directly with the support that the seat gives your back. Check it by sitting all the way back in your chair and measuring the space between the front edge of your chair and your calves. If you cannot fit your fist between the front edge of the chair and your calf, you do not have a seat that is deep enough.
